Free Tool
Stamp page numbers onto your PDF — choose position, size, format, and color. Add a prefix, suffix, or total page count. Download with numbers permanently embedded.
How it works
Number your PDF in three steps
- 1
Upload your PDF
Drag and drop your PDF onto the tool or click to browse. The file loads directly in your browser — never sent to any server.
- 2
Configure the numbering
Choose the position (bottom center, top right, etc.), font size, starting number, and color. Optionally add a prefix like 'Page ' or a suffix like ' of {total}' to show total page count.
- 3
Download the numbered PDF
Click 'Download numbered PDF'. Page numbers are drawn using pdf-lib and permanently embedded into each page — no separate layer, visible in every viewer.
Why use Signvoy
Flexible numbering, instant download
Six position options
Place page numbers at the bottom center, bottom left, bottom right, top center, top left, or top right of every page.
Prefix, suffix, and total page count
Add 'Page ' before the number, or ' of {total}' after it to show the total page count (e.g. 'Page 3 of 12'). Full control over the format.
Your file stays on your device
All processing happens locally using pdf-lib in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere.

FAQ
Common questions
- Can I start numbering from a page other than 1?
- Yes — set 'Start numbering at' to any number. For example, set it to 5 if the first few pages are a cover and table of contents you want to exclude from the count.
- How do I show 'Page X of Y'?
- Set the prefix to 'Page ' and the suffix to ' of {total}'. The tool replaces {total} with the actual total number of pages.
- Are the page numbers permanently embedded?
- Yes — they are drawn directly into the PDF page content, not added as annotations. They appear in every viewer including print.
- Can I add page numbers to a scanned PDF?
- Yes — scanned PDFs are image-based but this tool places page numbers as a text layer on top, which is fully supported.
