Free Tool
Draw or type your signature, place it anywhere on your PDF, and download the signed document — all in your browser. No account, no uploads, no waiting.
How it works
Sign your PDF in four steps
- 1
Upload your PDF
Drag and drop your PDF file onto the tool, or click to browse your device. Your file is loaded directly in your browser — it is never sent to any server.
- 2
Create your signature
Click anywhere on the document to open the signature pad. Draw your signature by hand using your mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen, or type your name and choose a cursive style.
- 3
Place and resize your signature
After creating your signature it appears on the page where you clicked. Drag it to reposition it, or pull the corner handles to resize. You can add multiple signatures across as many pages as you like.
- 4
Download the signed PDF
When you are satisfied, click the 'Download Signed PDF' button. The signatures are permanently burned into the document using pdf-lib and your browser downloads the finished file immediately.

FAQ
Common questions
- Is this tool really free?
- Yes, completely free — no account, no credit card, and no usage limits. The tool runs entirely in your browser.
- Does my PDF get uploaded to a server?
- No. Your file never leaves your device. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript (react-pdf for rendering and pdf-lib for the signing). Closing the tab discards everything.
- Is a signature created with this tool legally binding?
- An electronic signature is legally binding in most countries (US ESIGN Act, UETA, UK Electronic Communications Act, EU eIDAS) when it demonstrates intent, consent, and association with the signed document. A simple drawn or typed signature meets those requirements for most everyday agreements. For high-stakes contracts where you need a tamper-evident audit trail and certificate of completion, use Signvoy's full signing platform.
- Can I sign a multi-page PDF?
- Yes. All pages are displayed in sequence. Click any page to place a signature there. Each page can hold multiple signatures.
- What file size limit is there?
- The tool accepts PDFs up to 25 MB — the same limit as the rest of Signvoy. Most documents fall well below this.
- What is the difference between this free tool and Signvoy's full platform?
- This tool is for signing a PDF yourself, right now, in one step. Signvoy's platform adds: sending a document to other people to sign (multi-party), a tamper-evident audit trail with IP addresses and timestamps, a certificate of completion attached to the finished PDF, reusable templates, conditional fields, sequential signing order, automatic reminders, and a REST API for embedding into your own product.
