Free Tool
Add text, dates, checkmarks, and your signature to any PDF — drag to position, resize to fit, and download the completed document. No account, no uploads.
How it works
Fill and sign your PDF in four steps
- 1
Upload your PDF
Drag and drop your PDF file onto the tool, or click to browse. Your file is loaded directly in your browser — it is never sent to any server.
- 2
Choose a field type
Use the toolbar to select a field type: Signature (draw or type), Text (free text), Date (auto-filled with today's date), or Checkmark. Switch between them at any time.
- 3
Click to place fields
Click anywhere on the document to place the selected field type. Drag fields to move them, pull corner handles to resize, and double-click text fields to edit their content.
- 4
Download the filled PDF
When you are satisfied, click Download filled PDF. All fields are permanently embedded into the document using pdf-lib and your browser downloads the finished file.

FAQ
Common questions
- Is this fill and sign tool free?
- Yes — completely free with no account, no credit card, and no usage limits. Everything runs in your browser.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. Your file never leaves your device. All processing happens locally using pdf-lib in your browser.
- What types of fields can I add?
- You can add four field types: Signature (draw or type your signature), Text (free-form text in any font size), Date (auto-filled with today's date, editable), and Checkmark (a bold checkmark symbol).
- Can I fill out a form with AcroForm fields (clickable fields in PDFs)?
- This tool places visual overlays on top of any PDF — it works on both flat PDFs and PDFs with AcroForm fields. For AcroForm fields you may want to click directly on the field area so the overlay aligns with the form field.
- What is the difference between this tool and the Sign PDF tool?
- The Sign PDF tool is focused on adding signatures only. Fill and Sign adds text, dates, and checkmarks as well — ideal for completing any form or document before signing.
- What is the difference between this free tool and Signvoy's full platform?
- This tool is for filling and signing a PDF yourself, right now, in one step. Signvoy's platform adds: sending to other people for signatures (multi-party), a tamper-evident audit trail, a certificate of completion, reusable templates, sequential routing, and a REST API.
