How it works

Merge your PDFs in four steps

  1. 1

    Upload your PDF files

Drag and drop two or more PDF files onto the tool, or click to browse. Files are loaded directly in your browser — they are never sent to any server.

  2. 2

    Reorder the files

Drag the file rows to set the order they will appear in the merged document. You can also remove any file from the list before merging.

  3. 3

    Click Merge

Click the Merge button. pdf-lib combines the PDFs in your chosen order entirely within your browser — no processing on any server.

  4. 4

    Download the merged PDF

Your browser downloads the finished file immediately. The merged PDF contains every page from every file in the exact order you chose.

FAQ

Common questions

Is this PDF merger free to use?
Yes — completely free with no account, no credit card, and no usage limits. Everything runs in your browser.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your files never leave your device. All merging happens locally in your browser using pdf-lib. Closing the tab discards everything.
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
There is no hard limit. In practice, very large batches (50+ files) may be slow depending on your device's memory. For most use cases — combining a few reports, chapters, or scans — performance is instant.
What is the maximum file size?
Each individual file can be up to 25 MB. This covers the vast majority of documents. For very large or scanned PDFs, consider compressing them first.
Does the merged PDF preserve bookmarks, forms, and annotations?
Basic page content (text, images, vector graphics) is fully preserved. AcroForm fields are copied but may lose interactivity depending on the original. Bookmarks (outlines) are not merged in this tool.
Can I merge more than two PDFs?
Yes. Add as many PDF files as you need and drag them into the order you want before merging.
