Free Tool
Stamp custom text on every page of your PDF. Control the text, size, opacity, rotation, and color — then download with the watermark permanently embedded.
How it works
Add a watermark in three steps
- 1
Upload your PDF
Drag and drop your PDF onto the tool or click to browse. The file loads in your browser — never sent to any server.
- 2
Set the watermark
Type your watermark text (e.g. 'CONFIDENTIAL' or 'DRAFT'). Adjust font size, opacity, rotation angle, and color using the controls.
- 3
Download the watermarked PDF
Click 'Download watermarked PDF'. The watermark is drawn on every page using pdf-lib and your browser downloads the result immediately.

FAQ
Common questions
- Can I watermark only specific pages?
- The current tool applies the watermark to all pages. If you need page-specific watermarks, use the Add Text to PDF tool to place text manually on individual pages.
- Is the watermark removable?
- The watermark is drawn directly into the PDF page content as a text element — it is not a removable annotation. However, it is not cryptographically secure; a determined person with editing software could attempt to remove it.
- Can I use an image as a watermark?
- Currently only text watermarks are supported. Image watermarks (e.g. a logo) are planned for a future update.
- What opacity should I use?
- For a typical 'CONFIDENTIAL' or 'DRAFT' stamp, 15–25% opacity works well — visible enough to notice but not so heavy it obscures the content. Use 40–60% for a bolder mark.
